My god... how long has it been?
So yea, been like... January...something, since I posted anything from my print made collection. I know its been a while, so this seems more of a good time than any to post up publications of the past.
This was an issue I got around the time (I think so) when I did the last Animag post. And also to boot, I GOTS A SCANNER TO USE YAY!!!!!! So no more 8pointsumthing megapixzlez cameras to use to take pictures of magazines when I got a scanner to use. Because with a scanner, everything looks so darn better, but takes up 4x longer to do (as I have found out the past 2 hours scanning this stuff in). And besides, with my podcast going bi-weekly for a while, I will find some things to fill in those gaps so you guys don't go too long without something.
So yea, this piece of evidence comes from the late 80's of early anime publication in the states, as this is the 4th issue of Animag. Inside we get a glimpse of upcoming shows and OVA's like Gunbuster, Venus Wars, Starship Troopers OVA, Dirty Pair, Bubblegum Crisis, Zeta Gundam and a whole lot more about to burst out of this issue. So lets take a look, its in this book, of ANIMAG!!!!
I am also going to change somethings up, as in I'm not going to split up everything in the sub-categories like I usually do. I am just going to give out everything to you in order by page.
In case you missed it, there was some fan art by Toren Smith/ Adam Warren in that Dirty Pair article. But yea, that is everything all packed together in one issue.
This is about the time I usually rant about my personal life or something, so I guess I could tell you guys what I have been doing. Lets see, I am still in school and working on finishing my certificate, still using unemployment money (did have a temp job during Christmas, but that didn't last long), moved out of my apartment back in with my folks (for the time being), went to Nashicon (podcast on that next week), love life is still in question... so yea, nothing new.
So I guess I will leave you guys with this, don't let anything stop you now!!! Laters...
That is so cool. Seeing the Nikaku Animart ad was surreal. I totally knew what it was even in the thumbnail, just from the close up of Lum and the graphic design. Visited the actual store once: Animecon back in...'91 maybe? Thanks for the memories! I will definitely be checking out this blog.
ReplyDeleteWow, thats really cool to hear.
ReplyDeleteTrust me, I have TONS of these mags to post up in due time that I get a hold of either separate or in bulk. I hope you went back in my site some more to see the other post I have done, you might find something you like. Well, glad to have another fan.
