Third times the charm.. (aka Cybernauts Batch 4)

Its been a while... hasn't it.

Well, as of this moment, as I'm writing this out, I am no longer part of the CyberNauts Cast. Well, I haven't been as of Monday of November 26th. So as of the past 2 weeks, I haven't done anything podcast related at all. I haven't touched an episode to edit, or plan out recording times, or none of that crap that I just don't really have the time or effort for right now.

To make a long story short, we had an episode set up where were going to interview some people one of my (ex) co-host wanted on. Within the middle of the interview recording with these guest, we had some trolls show up and make a mockery of things which made that interview went south fast (and ill admit, looking back at some of the things that happened, it was kinda funny). I was more disappointed in some people than I was angry, because knowing the people that trolled the interview, it wasn't going to do any good to blow up on them. My ex co-host didn't see it that way, and wanted to put a perma ban on the perps. Knowing how our system works (which ill let you in on a secret, WE DON'T HAVE ONE!), I thought the ban idea was pretty dumb. But what made me angry was the fact that I wanted too move on and not think about it, while the person who had this set up would never let me hear the end of it, and that is what seemed to tick me off more than anything.

Not only that, but there is some clash of personalities in the group that was happening before this incident, which I clearly saw when this took place. There was no way we could all go back to working on the same page again. Then I realized that it was better for one other guy ( and including me) to split off from the podcast and leave it up to the co-host to take the reigns. I wanted to drop the guy from the site, but after remembering he started it, I wasn't going to argue with the guy and felt it was a better and more mature decision to let him handle it. Since then, its been a nice break from one thing that occupies my time to work on other things, such as a social life, schooling, and spending time playing Skyrim (23 hours in so far... and so much more to go). A well deserved break was what I really needed, and it is paying off.

But the transition to make this happen wasn't that bad. He agreed with what me and my other co-host had to say, and we did a final episode briefly (and completely BS'ing the whole thing) mentioning why we were leaving. But all I can do is hope for the best with the new leadership.

But... that doesn't mean I'm done with podcast forever. As a matter of fact, me and the other guy (plus another co-host) will be starting another podcast officially by the new year. It's still in me to podcast, and that is something I won't let go unless that time comes one day. With what we have been discussing, its going to be a bi-weekly release-ish podcast that is going to stick to this blog's formula. So much so, this blog has a sister site: The Anime of Yesteryear Podcast.

So far all we've done is made test post on who we are. I've got a section where I will list off the anime (and video games/WHATEVER) we will be reviewing each week, so there is an archive for people to hear what we have to say on something. We will shoot to get our first episode out by the new year, so stay tuned for that.

And with that said, I have another batch of episodes for you guys. And I will working on getting a magazine scanned and shown... maybe around Christmas, or tomorrow... who knows (but me). But if I don't hear from you honky cracker-jacks, Marry Christmas and Happy New Year!!!

Cool Kids Club Podcast Episode 52 - Anime Boston Talkback

Hey gang!! In anime terms, this episode would be considered the final one of the series, so we have quite the doozy of everything coming at you in this episode. This week we have past co-host DaftPunkFan join in with his crew in Beastie Boys style where they mention what they did at the convention (starting at 14 min in), which includes talking about hot cosplayers, getting yelled at by authority, getting knocked in the face at the rave, drunken nights at the hotel, people who have make bad panels, and much more. We also go off topic a bit to talk about the military, internet people we know and the events around them, people making meth in Wal-Mart, internet memes, movie talk and the (now old) news of how Chris Chan popped his cherry. This and much much more in this weeks installment.

Our Final WEEK!!!! This is the big one, the grand finale in our Bubblegum Crisis review month. We also went ahead and split this up into 2 episodes as well since it was a rather long recording. We talk about the OVA "Double Vision," which has Genom land, revenge fueled pop singers, engrish texan signs, spider tanks, and horny old men. I also fill the end with some music, go fig. We also talk about things like Texas, the St. Patricks Day tradition, songs from the 90's and Street Fighter quotes along with bad audio and poppy hold music. Join the gang with One Pixel Jump, Amanda and (SUPER SECRET SPECIAL GUEST PODCAST GRANDMASTA) Sean Ryan from the Alpha Counter/Method to Madness Podcast. All this and more in this weeks episode.

Cool Kids Club Podcast Episode 45 - Bubblegum Crisis Review #2

Welcome once again to this weeks adventure through the Mega Tokyo slums, filled with the corpses of fallen ADP officers and outrider bike gangs as this week we take on the 3rd and 4th Bubblegum Crisis OVA's "Blow Up" and "Revenge Road". This has AD Police helicopters (getting es'ploded), ricing up your super car for revenge on the interstate, no protection paintballing, getting evicted by the corporations, and bad internet connection skype problems. I was ...maybe (if THAT) in this episode about half the time, while the other half was me getting a sledgehammer threatening to trash my internet modem, as I had internet problems this episode. Luckly, I have One Pixel Jump, Amanda and the crew to keep this review going as the "Battle of the Internet" raged on in my apartment, but it wasn't without me hearing some snide remarks from the crew in my absence when I went to edit this episode. But I gotta say, thank you guys!!!! All this and more in this weeks episode, enjoy!

Cool Kids Club Podcast Episode 44 - Bubblegum Crisis Review #1

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BUBBLEGUM CRISIS!!!!

Welcome back! Today marks the 25th Anniversary of the classic cyberpunk anime classic, Bubblegum Crisis! We at the podcast decided to dedicate a whole month to Bubblegum Crisis, with stories of fandom, fanfiction, "by ear" stories heard at cons over the years, and for us to pick on the anime a bit (regarding the AD Police and Mackie of course). We start out on how we came to watch and love this beloved OVA series and what made us the fans we are today, then we go into tangents of the anime and just have fun with it, since the OVA series is a lot of fun regardless. We talk about the first 2 OVA's, Tinsel City and Born to Kill. We are joined by Jeff of Anime Graruru, One Pixel Jump and "all around" BGC fangirl herself, Amanda Stair (Duran). Hope you enjoy, and more to come

Kinuko Oomori... the Japanese Pop Rock Goddess... of Rock!!!!

My personal ramblings: (When I came to this podcast, this was really the number one thing I wanted to talk about and discuss more than anything, but I wanted to do it right with the right people involved. Now, this is the perfect time to talk about this anime with whatever experience I have picked up being a podcaster in the past 40 some episodes I have been with the show. My greatest wish on this is to do this OVA justice and pay its dues to the anime community.)

Cool Kids Club Podcast Episode 43 - Battle Royal High School Review

Hey gang! This week in our quest of AnimEigo titles we stumble upon the world of something we just can't comprehend too well in Battle Royal High School (aka, might be "Tekken: The Wonder Years"). This has man in cheetah mask (KING), space police, big teddy bears, boomerang sewer grates, fairies on crack, exploding trees and so much more. This episode is kinda split up into two parts, which part (a) is our review of the anime, we talk about movies like Drive and talk about video games. Part (b) is our pre show DRAMA!!!!, where we decide to resurrect C(hibi)G(oku) from the dead, but it turns out that was more trouble than we bargained for and the Dragonballs just exploded and CG went back to the negaverse or wherever. Long story short, I don't wanna explain anything to you, but CG does anyways. All this and more in this weeks episode!

We even hit up our Mailbag again with the return of SPACE SHAFT SUCKA and other peoples problems. Special Guest Stephen from Jade Phoenix joins us with mic troubles, so sit back and enjoy.
